About PRP
Platelet-rich plasma is a unique injectable treatment that aims to heal skin conditions and various facial aging signs and stimulate new hair growth. This revolutionary treatment uses nutrients and platelets from your blood supply to help reduce and eliminate signs of aging. PRP cosmetic procedures are simple, time-effective, and affordable. Many clients get PRP done on their lunch breaks in under an hour.

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a solution created by processing your own blood so that it forms a high concentration of growth factors. When applied to the skin directly after micro-needling, a process that creates thousands of micro-injuries in the skin and tissue, the PRP is absorbed into the dermis and stimulates new cell growth and collagen production.
PRP facial rejuvenation can help improve:
-
Lines, wrinkles, and rough skin texture
-
Pigmentation irregularities
-
Dull skin tone
-
Pore size
-
Scarring
-
And much more
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does PRP therapy work?
PRP therapy uses your body’s own tissue growth factors to stimulate and improve blood supply and collagen formation in the skin.
As the platelets in the blood are integral to healing the skin, they naturally help in the augmentation and regeneration of skin tissue.
Q: What is involved in the PRP procedure?
During the procedure, we take a small sample of your blood and isolate the platelets using a centrifuge. The centrifuge we use is the advanced Cytomedix Angel system, designed specifically for extracting PRP from blood samples in a clinically safe manner.
We then inject – or in the case of combination therapies, apply – the blood containing the high concentration of platelets (the PRP) into the area of your skin that needs treating. The procedure takes around 30 to 45 minutes to complete.
Q: Is PRP safe?
PRP has been used in hundreds of thousands of procedures worldwide, for the past 30 years, particularly in maxilla-facial, orthopedic, and cardiac surgery. Because it’s based on the use of autologous tissue (in other words, it uses your blood to repair and regenerate your skin tissue), PRP is one of the safest ways to revitalize and rejuvenate your skin.
Q: Are there any side effects?
After the procedure, you may experience some slight swelling and redness in the treated area.
This is normal and temporary, and we will provide you with the appropriate post-treatment care to minimize any discomfort.
Q: Does PRP hurt?
As with many procedures using needles, each patient is different when it comes to sensitivity.
You may feel a tingling sensation post-treatment and some redness and slight swelling, but these symptoms should quickly disappear.
Adverse reactions are rare, but you can ask the practitioner for topical anesthesia before the treatment if you are concerned about pain.
